My story with music began when I was seven years old. Our next door neighbor, Mr. Russell, was the middle school music teacher in our community. My sister had wanted to learn how to play piano. The only problem was she didn't have one to practice on. In a household with eight children, a piano was out of the budget. Mr. Russell, knowing of my sister's interest, gifted our family a used piano and had it delievered to our home.
As soon as it was placed in our living room, the "Piano War" began between me and my sister and lasted for ten years. My parents worked long and hard so that both of us could take formal lessons from an amazing teacher, Mrs. Diane Thorn. I would often run home from school just to be the first one to get to the piano. I loved learning the language of music and I also enjoyed studying the classic pieces of Mozart and Beethoven. My music interests quickly spread and I soon became a member of our school band, jazz ensemble, and chorus. I also would often accompany youth choirs and solo performers. Music had become my life!
As I grew older and began raising children of my own, my life of music changed into a passion. I connect each and every day with my passion for music and I bring music with me wherever I go. I can't imagine my life without it. I want to do all I can to share the gift that was granted to me when I was seven years old.
Please join me in gifting your child a life filled with music, creativity, memories and passion.
